Things I Just LOVE!!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you had a fun filled day and that the bunny stopped by your house! I took some pics of our Easter events but they did not turn out. I guess I'm gonna have to dust off my owners manual and learn to use my little camera.

In the meantime I have been thinking a lot about the things I love. I've been trying to count my blessings, so much in fact that if that song runs through my head one more time I think I might puke!! But I'm trying to focus and be thankful for all that I DO have and not concentrate so much on what I DON'T have. So I started compiling a list....some of them serious, some of them silly, and some of them somewhere in between. They are not in order or listed by priority or anything....just a random list.

I LOVE:
* my husband- he is the best! He seriously puts up with so much when it comes to me and my personality flaws. I love that he will listen to me ramble about dumb stuff. I would go crazy if I had to keep all this in. He is my best friend. And he truly brings home the bacon. He just returned from a wild pig hunt and I am so excited to have some pork in the freezer. It will be a nice change of pace.
WARNING! There is blood in this photo. Which means my hubbie made a freaking awesome shot. If you are a wuss please scroll past this photo.

*my kids- they are the cutest! They truly bring me joy each and everyday. It is so fun to watch their little personalities grown and develop and change as they get older. They keep me on my toes lately with all their questions. I can not imagine my life without them. The sound of their laughter is the sunshine in my day.

*WinCo Grocery Store- have you been there?! If you haven't you must! It has great deals, a wonderful bulk section and fantastic prices. Some of you have heard me go on and on about my love/hate relationship with WalMart so I am so glad that WinCo has appeared in the valley.

*Nail Polish- can't live without it! I love polish because it always fits! No matter how much Diet Coke I drink and squeeze nachos I gobble down- polish fits! I ALWAYS have my toes painted. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall...there is always polish on my toes. I love looking down and there is a little splash of color to brighten my mood.

*Cascade Complete All in One Action Pacs- Oh My Stars!! My Dad is right, name brand IS better than Western Family. I have always used western family...I like it, it's done okay, my dishes are clean. But Whoa! My little sister had these at her house, I thought I'd give them a try and the difference is amazing! My glasses are sparkling just like the commercial. I love unloading a dishwasher full of clean, sparkling, hard water stain free glasses. It's the little things people.

*Our house- true, I rent, but I do believe that home is where your heart is. We love it here. We couldn't ask for a better place to live in our current situation. My kids have their own space, we have a fantastic yard, the RV parking is stellar, and the list goes on. I love it, we love it, and that's all that matters.

*good bread, evoo and balsamic vinegar- we had this with our dinner the other nite and I remembered how much I love it!! I made a comment about my love for it to the hubs while eating it and he laughed at me. I thought "guess I'll add that to my list".

*Food and cooking in general- how can you not love food! I just rented Julie and Julia. Great flick! While I am not Julie, I do have a love for cooking. Like her, I love how after a bad day you can be in the kitchen and you know that by combing certain ingredients you will get the same result every time. I love making a meal and seeing my family enjoy it. And the hubs (he's awesome again) he tells my kids every time we sit down just how lucky they are to have a mom that can/will make them such great dinners.
P.S. I could never be Julie. I got Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child from the library. Have you seen that thing? It's ginormous. I don't know that I will ever have the gumption to cook my way through a book that big.

This is not in anyway an all inclusive list, my list goes on and on. I can't list each thing I love and the reason here. But I'm gonna start carrying the list with me so I can add things to it as I realize them. I need to focus on the small everyday things. I read on a blog somewhere to "Find pure ridiculousness out of everyday boringness" And I am trying....

  4. I am so with you Amy!!! I love your list. Because I find love in the silliest/dumbest things and I am so happy that you included Cascade action pacs in your list! That kicks rocks. Love it. It brightened my day and made me laugh right out loud. Loud enough I had to explain myself. I love you. Home is where the heart is, wherever that is-AGREED! A home is what you make it, not something labeled by definition. I told Candace the other day that I just hope your landlord would gift or let you guys buy that house someday. =)

  5. What a fantastic post! I had a similar thought the other day about something silly, and thought, if I had a blog I'd post that I love this. But you did it better than I could. I love you and I'm so glad you'll have bacon in the freezer and clean dishes :) Thanks for helping me remember little things too.
