Midway June 2010

Midway!!!! I have never been super excited about this little vacation ever since I had kids. But this year for some reason I was looking forward to it. My kids are at a great age to enjoy it and so then maybe I could to.

I took a day off work and we headed up on the Wednesday of that week. The kids were so excited. It's such a great place for kids to just run and play and be 100% kids. Riding bikes, jumping on the tramp, swinging, the playhouse, etc, etc. There's just so much to do.

Here is a pic of the house. It's a good size house but boy it sure seemed bigger when I was a kid!

This is the view from our room. This year the kids and I stayed in the Boys Dorm. It was so nice to have our own room and so fun to have "sleep-overs" together.

The kids spent so much time on this super fun bike called a Surrey. The driveway at the house is huge and long and perfect for tons of bike riding. The bigger cousins sure get a workout pedaling the little kids around and around.

And a ton of time was spent on the tramp too. Sometimes with water, sometimes dry. It almost makes me wish we had a tramp in our yard. But my kids don't have much fear so I think we'll pass for now.

Another super fun thing about the Midway house is this super cool tub. All the kids in our big extended family, myself included, have just loved it over the years. All of us cousins have had our turns in it and now our own kids are getting to love it too. Since there are so many bathing beauties in the tub at one time swim suits are required. Look how much fun they are having!!

Gosh my kids are so stinkin' cute!!!!

And last but not least here is a pic of the big boys having some fun. You can see my kids watching in amazement as they do jumps and flips from the roof of the playhouse. I think they just gave them the idea for next years accident. (If you haven't heard the story of this year's accident just give me a jingle. I decided I'm not typing it all out here, for many reasons)

Thursday was a day of scrap booking for my aunt. Her son is to return home from his mission just next month and we helped her get his memories into a book. In return she made the most amazing food for us all day. It was also such fun to spend that time with the women in my family. They are an inspiration to me. I love you ladies!

Sadly the week came to an end. It was so fun! Beautiful weather! Amazing food! Wonderful time spent with family!! It really was great. My children and I had a fantastic time and I think I'll look forward to it again next year.

  2. Well what a fabulous time every body had!!! And don't you just love the example that the teenagers make for the little kids? I'm pretty sure C will be jumping off the playhouse by next year, and you know exactly who to blame!!! I'm glad you had fun whilst you were up there!!!
