Oh how I miss you E.A.B!!

Today I had sadness in my heart...I miss Eat A Burger. I don't know if you all knew it but EAB closed. It's tragic I know. Man, I loved that place!!! The spicy fries were EPIC!!

Back in January, on a Friday my mom and sister and I walked in to find this:

My stomach dropped! Oh.My.Gosh! I couldn't believe it but I knew the minute I saw that wall that my fav fast food place of all time was closing its door. I heard my sister say behind me "What are they doing, are they decorating like the Pie?" "No" I said, almost with tears in my eyes, "they are closing." We stood in line reading all the comments on the walls. I loved this one:

We got up to the register and they had a poster board with the Top 10 Most Frequently asked questions (I should have taken a pic of that). It said that yes, they were closing their doors, that the economy has just made business too slow, that the very next day would be their last day of business. But lo and behold the best part of all is that they are opening a new restaraunt out at the District!!! That it will be a sit down place with some of the same menu items, most importantly they will still have SPICY FRIES!!! I could dry my eyes. I would get to eat those beloved fries once again.....I just have to wait until April. I was so sad and so happy at the same time. I'm so glad their new location is closer to me. I mean look at this food, how can you not love it!!!!

The tray you see above is what I ordered everytime I visited. The lemon chicken sandwich (chicken breast seasoned with lemon pepper, lettuce, cuke and sprouts, mouth watering), spicy fries, homemade fry sauce and Diet Coke (of course). It's funny I've never had a burger at Eat A Burger, I always got that super awesome sammich.

My kids favorite part was their juke-box. It kept them entertained while we waited in line to order and then once again when they were done eating. Good times, good times.

So after I read that poster board and it said the next day was their last day of business I told my little sister I would be driving back up for one last bucket of spicy fries. How could I not??!! I would have to wait months before getting to have them again. So sure enough, late that next night as soon as J got home (I think he had been hunting, hmmmm, weird) my sister and her hubbie picked me up and we drove up. I had one last lemon sammich, one last bucket of spicy fries (don't judge me) and a Diet Coke. Heaven on a fast food tray!!

And I wrote on the wall: IHeartU-EAB!! AW

  2. Oh my one true follower -- how I love you! I wish I could say that I love EAB - but I've never been! Sorry - so I guess that's just somewhere we'll have to go when it comes to the District! Maybe a girls night out! I'm always up for fries.
