The Living Planet Aquarium

At the beginning of summer I made a list of things I wanted to do with my kids. Some of them are simple like make popsicles, get shaved ice, go swimming and some are bigger like the Aquarium, a Museum at BYU and the Zoo. So hopefully as I get to cross some things off my list I can share them with all of you!

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium with my sister and her kids. Lots of people say the aquarium is kinda lame but I really like it. If I can get my kids to walk slowly it's really a learning experience. And this year they added the penguin exhibit! So cute!



I think the opportunity to touch a ray is really cool. The kids love it too and this year they are finally all big enough to reach right in. I can't keep my hands out of the water either, it's just feels so crazy.



See! Look at all the stuff you can learn. It's so fun to point out to my kids the things we have read about in books (thanks Usborne) and then to actually see it in real life, it's amazing.





They had this cute frog in the Utah exhibit. Couldn't resist the photo op.



And the penguin exhibit was fantastic!! The penguins were so active. Waddling all around and swimming a ton too. The window is great because you can see the land and under the water too. I tried to get a pick of the penguins swimming but it didn't work too well. I need to take some pointers from Candace. As you can see the kids liked it too and my darling daughter is really into making funny faces/poses for her photos. So funny!

After the aquarium we had some free lunch with coupons that my darling daughter earned through a reading program at school. (her cousins earned some too) Then I twisted my sisters arm a little and talked her into spending too much for a cupcake. I have always wanted to get a cupcake from The Sweet Tooth Fairy. They opened a location in Draper and I was jumping for joy. The VaNiella cupcake has intrigued me since I first read about it. I love Nie's blog and have been longing to try her favorite cupcake. I'm hardly ever in Provo so the Draper location saved the day.



I borrowed this pic from the Utah Loves Cupcakes website because I forgot to take my own pic. Blast! (Utah Loves Cupcakes is another great site you should all totally visit) The cupcake was worth every penny for me. It was amazing!! I have been dreaming about going back to try other flavors!!
