Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum

Yay! Another fun activity on the list of fun things to do this summer. I recruited my sister in law and the cousins to do this one with us. They are huge BYU fans and have made their own trips to explore the campus so I really wanted to do this activity with them. I also had the BYU Creamery on my list so I told my kids that if they were good at the museum we could get a yummy treat.

We met the cousins and grabbed lunch on our ride down to Provo. Then we had a small tour of the campus as I am apparently directionally challenged and couldn't find the museum. Thank goodness for cell phones so that we could keep in touch while we drove in circles.

This museum was really amazing. They had multiple exhibits with tons of creatures in each exhibit. So many mounts you just can't believe it.

Look out for these beasts though! Fiercest ones in the building!!
(they are standing in front of two big bears but I took a crappy pic and you can't see those)

And here we are with the total opposite. Look at these tiny little animals!! The girls are saying "Oo-Ooohhhh" Can't you just hear them?

They had this really neat African exhibit. Just look at that elephant!

As part of the exhibit they had an actual size foot print from an elephant. I told the kids it was probably big enough to fit all their feet. Sure enough!!

And luckily for me everyone was good at the museum so we headed over to the Creamery for a treat. We walked the couple blocks in the blazing sun so the delicious cold ice cream was a perfect treat. Don't you wish you could see the amazing bowl of Raspberry and Cream Cheese that I had? Yeah, me too. But apparently I've decided to only take photos from half an event so I don't have a pic. You'll just have to believe me when I say it was yummy. My sis-in-law had a praline flavor that looked fantastic too, we should have traded some bites. Oh well, guess we'll have to go back!

Such a fun day!! My kids never want it to end. We always get back to the car and they want to know what we are doing next or if we can go back to the cousins house. They just love those kids!! Thanks to my sis-in-law for making time in her uber-crazy busy schedule to be with us. We are so glad we got to play with you before the kids have to go back to school!!
