West Jordan High Mini Cheer Clinic

West Jordan High....can you believe that?! If I had more school spirit I would be appalled!! But we live in Jaguar country now so that's how it be.

My darling daughter has a friend with a big sister who is a WJ High cheerleader. She brought home a flier on Wed saying there was a cheer clinic on Thur and a half time performance at Friday nights football game. Of course she totally wanted to do it!!! So we signed up just in time. I went over and hung out in the gym while she learned her cheer. It was so weird to be in a high school....I haven't done that since I graduated. Everyone seemed so "little".

Then Friday Nite...the big game!!! Friday Nite Lites Baby! It also felt so crazy to be at a high school football game, I don't think I've done that since Senior Year. And to be in Jaguar Stadium, that felt funny too. But enough about me. K was so excited!! She couldn't stop practicing the cheer, singing the song, and doing cartwheels. That was all before we even sat down. It was the longest first half of her life. But then out they came! So cute!! Girls from 4 - 12 all full of excitement and ready to cheer. Unfortunately the music didn't really work but they did their best anyway and it was fantastic. She loved every minute.

Here's a pic of the team. "We" played Copper Hills and when we left in the 3rd quarter they were stomping them. 42 to a big fat zero!

Isn't she the cutest mini-cheerleader you ever did see?!!!
If K keeps this gymnastic stuff up she'll make a great cheerleader some day.

This was K's favorite Varsity Cheerleader. She was one of the cute girls teaching K's group the dance and cheer. She reminded me of my cousins wife Rachel (maybe that is why K loved her so much) so cute, fantastic personality and absolutely darling with the mini-cheerleaders.

I'm guessing that as long as we get fliers to participate my darling daughter will be jumping, or flipping, or cartwheeling at the chance to cheer!
